The objection
“All this legal advice is useless on the street. Cops do whatever they want.”Top comment, 1,200 likes, under a “say THIS to police” video

Correct. At the window, they can.

The window is not where it’s decided. It’s decided later, by a judge, against a ruling. If the ruling says the search was illegal, the search is gone, and often the case with it.

A cop can ignore your words. A judge can’t ignore the law. That is the whole difference between this book and every “say this” video you’ve watched.

Why the scripts fail

Three problems with magic words

A rule you can look up beats a line you have to recite.

Rule 24

They never read me my rights. Case dismissed?

NO. That’s the most-mocked myth in every comment section. Miranda suppresses an un-warned statement made during custodial interrogation. It doesn’t erase the arrest, the evidence, or the case.
✓What police CAN do
  • Arrest you without ever reading the warning, if they don’t interrogate you in custody.
  • Use everything else they lawfully gathered, warning or not.
✕What police CAN'T do
  • Use your un-warned custodial statements in their case against you.
→What YOU can do
  • Get what the warning is actually for: it puts your two strongest rights — silence and a lawyer — formally on the table.
  • What you do with them is the next two rules, and it’s where most people lose.
Proof Miranda v. Arizona, 384 U.S. 436 (1966), U.S. Supreme Court, 5–4. Verify: supreme.justia.com/cases/federal/us/384/436/

Courtroom Trace3.8 million views of real hearings · 370+ videos

We run Courtroom Trace, where we cut real hearings into the moments that matter. This book is built the same way the videos are: from the record. Every opinion cited was read in full from the court’s own archive, and every claim went through a second, adversarial review before it went in. The three newest Supreme Court decisions on police and your rights, from 2024, 2025 and 2026, are already inside.

Every PROOF line links to the opinion, so you can check any page in a minute. When a court moves, the page moves with it, and every buyer gets the new edition free.

Questions people ask before buying

Straight answers

The videos are free. Why buy this?

The videos show you one hearing. The book gives you the ruling behind fifty of them, one page each, in the order you’ll actually need them, on your phone before you ever need it. And the cards go in the glovebox, where a video can’t.

How do I get it after paying?

Gumroad emails you a download link within a minute. It never expires, and every future edition goes to the same address. If it hasn’t arrived in ten minutes, check spam, then Email support@courtroomtrace.com.

Is this legal advice?

It’s a guide to what the courts have decided, page by page, with the ruling linked. It isn’t advice on your specific case. If you’re facing charges, bring it to your attorney. You’ll walk in already knowing what the ruling says, and that hour will count.

Does it cover my state?

Most rulings are U.S. Supreme Court decisions, the minimum protection everywhere in America. Your state can protect you more, never less. The book marks the six places where state law changes the answer and leaves a line to write yours in.

Can I share it with my family?

Yes. One purchase covers your household. Put it on every phone in the house and print a set of cards for everyone who drives.

Who should NOT buy this?

Anyone looking for magic words to talk their way out of a stop. There aren’t any, and this book won’t pretend there are. It tells you what holds up later, which is a different thing.

I’m not in the United States.

Then most of this won’t apply to you. The rulings are American. Save your money unless you’re curious.

What format is it? Can I print the cards?

A PDF, 6×9, that reads on a phone and prints fine on letter paper. The cards are 5×3 inches, two per sheet, made to be cut out.

What if a ruling changes, or something needs fixing?

Courts move. When one does, the page moves with it and every buyer gets the new edition free. Three Supreme Court decisions from 2024, 2025 and 2026 are already in. Spot something? Email support@courtroomtrace.com and we check it against the opinion.

What if it’s not for me?
